Skill Stork International School: Nurturing Tomorrow’s Trailblazers

At Skill Stork International School, every student is acknowledged, esteemed, and presented
with challenges. Recognizing that students require both time and engaging activities, we
strive to provide an environment where they can absorb and apply their expanding knowledge
and awareness of the world.

Skill Stork International School follows a unique approach to the course schedule, with a
five-day repetition cycle, allowing students to focus on eight 40-minute classes. Our aim is
to encourage students to delve deep into their chosen subjects each day, steering away from
rigid transitions and the constraints of the clock. This approach provides a broader space
for self-discovery and exploration of their academic interests.

In addition to the core year-long classes, Skill Stork International School offers a diverse
array of elective choices. These include options such as visual and performing arts,
robotics, Model UN, and more. We believe in empowering our students with the freedom to
choose subjects that resonate with their passions and interests, fostering a holistic and
enriching educational journey

Robust Assessment Practices

Assessments at Skill Stork go beyond grades. Through formative and summative evaluations, we provide actionable feedback to guide student growth. Our assessment practices align with IB standards, emphasizing understanding, skill development, and the application of knowledge in authentic contexts.

Formative Assessments are a vital part of the learning process. Guided by clear
assessment criteria and detailed task-specific clarifications, students understand
expectations and focus on continuous improvement. These assessments provide
meaningful feedback, helping learners refine their skills, deepen understanding, and
achieve personal growth.

Through this approach, we ensure every student takes ownership of their learning
journey while developing the confidence to excel.

Our summative assessments are designed to evaluate students’ understanding and
skills at the end of a unit. Based on the IB MYP’s rigorous assessment criteria,
these tasks challenge students to apply their knowledge in creative, analytical, and
real-world contexts.

Our summative assessments promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and
reflection, ensuring students End of Year 5 Assessments
The Middle School embraces both internal and optional external assessments, ensuring
a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s growth and capabilities.

External Assessment: The Personal Project A hallmark of the Middle School, journey
is the Personal Project, undertaken by each student in their final year. This
project is a testament to their ability to conduct independent work, producing a
truly personal and creative piece over an extended period. External validation by
the IB adds credibility to this summative review of their skills and
accomplishments.

Optional eAssessment for Comprehensive Certification Skill Stork International
School has the option to register for eAssessment, an opportunity for students to
earn a formal, internationally recognized certificate if they meet the success
criteria. This eAssessment includes two types of examinations:

  • ePortfolios of Coursework: Students compile a digital portfolio showcasing their
    coursework. This includes a compulsory ePortfolio for the Personal Project,
    highlighting their journey and achievements.
  • On-Screen Examinations: Rigorous on-screen examinations, lasting between one
    hour and 45 minutes to two hours, offer a dynamic way to assess knowledge across
    various subject groups.
The Arts and Physical Education in the MYP

At Skill Stork International School, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) embraces the holistic development of students through Music, Dance, Drama, Physical and Health Education (PHE), and Visual Arts. These disciplines play a vital role in nurturing creativity, self-expression, and physical well-being, ensuring students grow as balanced and reflective individuals.

cultural awareness, encouraging students to choreograph and perform with confidence.

Drama: Exploring the World Through Performance

Drama engages students in storytelling, character exploration, and stagecraft.
Through improvisation, scripted performances, and theatre studies, students develop
critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy. Drama also enhances their
communication skills and helps them appreciate the richness of global narratives.

Visual Arts: Unleashing Creative Potential

The Visual Arts program encourages students to express themselves through a variety
of media, from painting and sculpture to digital art. They explore techniques, art
history, and cultural symbolism, developing both technical skills and an
appreciation for aesthetics. Visual arts foster innovation and self-reflection,
empowering students to convey their unique perspectives

Physical and Health Education (PHE): Building Active Lifestyles

PHE promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Through sports, fitness activities, and health education, students build resilience,
coordination, and leadership skills. Our PHE program emphasizes the connection
between physical and mental well-being, preparing students to lead balanced lives.
