Subject Groups
The IBDP offers a comprehensive curriculum across six subject groups, ensuring students develop broad knowledge while specialising in areas of strength and interest.
- Group 1: Language and Literature studies in the student's native or acquired language.
- Group 2: Language Acquisition courses focusing on additional languages.
- Group 3: Individuals and Societies covering subjects like Economics, History, Geography, etc.
- Group 4: Sciences including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Systems, etc.
- Group 5: Mathematics offering various levels of courses.
- Group 6: The Arts or Electives in visual arts, music, theatre, or an additional subject from Groups 1-5.

IB Diploma Programme Recognition in India
The IBDP is recognized by leading universities across India and worldwide. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognizes the IB Diploma as equivalent to the 10+2 system of Indian education, enabling students to pursue higher education in Indian universities.

The IB Diploma is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 qualification, allowing IBDP graduates to apply to all Indian universities and competitive examinations.
Assessment Pattern and Grading Criteria
IBDP has a unique grading system to grade students on a scale of 45. The minimum requirement for the program is a student needs to obtain at least 24 points to pass the diploma. Generally, students are offered 6 subjects in IB with a grade point of 6 each — giving a total of 42 points from the subjects, plus 3 core points from the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
The remaining core element, CAS, does not contribute to the points total but authenticated participation is mandatory. The IBDP uses a combination of internal and external assessments such as IA (research work) and written examinations, with variations between HL and SL subjects.
