Age Criteria for AY 2026-27 Admissions
The minimum age for admission to Grade 1 is 6 years and the maximum admissible age is 8 years as of 01/04/2026 for the regular category. Thus, the allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission in Grade-1 for AY 2026-27 is 01st April 2018 to 01st April 2020.
A 2-year relaxation in the upper age limit is given for “Differently Abled” candidates. The allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission in the “Differently Abled” category is from 01st April 2016 to 01st April 2020.
The cut-off day to work out the age of an applicant seeking admission for AY 2026-27 is 01st April 2026.
Note: The minimum age limit to appear for the current CBSE class 10th board exam is 14 years, which means the candidate must have completed 14 years of age as of 31st December of the year of the examination.

The cut-off date to calculate a child’s age for all admissions in AY 2026–27 is 01 April 2026. A child must meet the minimum and maximum age limits as of this date to be eligible for admission to a particular class.
For the regular category, a child must be between 6 and 8 years old as of 01 April 2026.
This means the child’s date of birth should fall between 01 April 2018 and 01 April 2020 (both dates inclusive).
Yes. A 2-year relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for Differently Abled candidates.
For Grade 1 admission, the eligible date of birth range is from 01 April 2016 to 01 April 2020, subject to valid supporting documentation.
As per CBSE norms, a student must have completed 14 years of age on or before 31 December of the examination year to be eligible to appear for the Class 10 board examination.
